photo recap

Corban was really sick this week. Pneumonia, to be specific.
It made for a long week.
Just sayin'.
Finally- Thursday, as the sun came out, my little boy returned to his normal, energetic, eating, happy self.
This Mama sure was glad.
That sunshine has been glorious, huh?
Never has 45 felt so good.

I was amazed by the kids' reactions! The second we were out the front door, Corban was climbing the tree (literally) and Cate was squirming to get down... We are all so ready for this nice(r) weather. I'm grateful that March has already brought some above-freezing and sunshiny days!
Also- I forgot how fun picture taking is outside and with sunlight. I can only imagine how much fun I'll be having once my NEW LENS comes in!!! :) Nothing too fancy or costly, but a prime lens! Woo!!
I'm really working on learning the manual settings of my camera. It's left me frustrated on numerous occasions, as I've missed good pictures due to wrong settings- but- I've also been really pleased when they come out like I was picturing in my brain. Just takes time, I guess!
Lastly- check out my newest project:

Doesn't it almost make you want to pull out the high heels and start vaccuuming??
Okay, fine. Me neither. But I was pleased with how it came out.
It's actually a wedding gift for a friend who is getting married tomorrow. I plan on having a few of these at the Craft Fair to sell as well. I REALLY enjoyed making this. Probably my favorite thing I've sewn so far!
*Also please note, I'm not 8 ft tall as it appears in the pictures. I'm standing on a footstool. And please ignore the 'getting ready for bed' appearance. Doesn't every 24 year old look like they're ready for bed at 8 p.m. on a Friday night?
Okay. I'm done rambling.

This post was brought to you by:
                                          curls and purple skinny jeans
                                                with help from furry moccasins

Happy Weekend!

  1. *Cate is soooo adorable in the skinny jeans and furry moccasins! She's stylin!

*LOVE that apron! And I mean it about the blanket, if you have time, that is!

*You are SO cute! And yes, I am 23, and I definitely have a getting-ready-for-bed appearance on Fri and Sat nights. *sigh* But it's worth it!

*Corban is so grown up and sweet...I am so sorry he was sick but wishing him a speedy recovery.

*I try to always shoot in manual, and you're right, it can be frustrating, but it's the only way for me to get the lighting "just right". It's much harder to do it outside though...I often wind up in A or P just so they don't look blown out since it's so bright!

    Sorry for the novel. :)

  2. Have you taken any classes to help you learn the manual settings? Your pictures are wonderful already but it's so fun to be able to picture what you want in your head and make it translate when you shoot the photo.

If you're interested, I have a great class that was online I could send you. Send me a FB message with your address and I'll send you a copy in the mail. Lots of good information.

  3. okay...the pic of cate walking like a little lady? um, when did she stop being a baby?! love, love, LOVE the apron and thirdly, what is this craft fair you speak of and when?? i'll need to purchase some of your goods. :)

  4. First, I love the purple skinny jeans and furry moccasins. :)

Second, I love the jacket/sweater thing Cate is wearing with the hearts on it. I love that whole line of clothing in that material.

Third, I'm so sorry Corban was sick! Poor guy! And poor mama!

Fourth, the apron is absolutely adorable. If I lived closer, I'd totally buy one from you. Okay, I do live semi-close to you, but I won't exactly be in the area when you are selling them. Lol.

Fifth, did I ever mention that I love this background and the header?

Sixth, I was LOVING the warm weather for Indiana in this time of year! Why did it have to go away so soon???

Seventh, I LOVE the apron shots with you. Very creative and artsy.

Eighth, you don't look bad at all for being ready for bed! I thought you looked cute. :)

Sorry, I guess I had a lot to say. Haha.
